SALT LAKE CITY — Health officials reported 357 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, plus four new deaths and 14,659 new vaccinations administered in Utah.

The rolling seven-day average for positive cases in the state is now at 280, up from 273 on Friday.

The rolling seven-day percent positivity rate as calculated by the “people over people” method is 7.0%. As calculated by the “tests over tests” method, the rolling seven-day average of percent positivity is 4.5%.

There are currently 164 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Utah, the health department said. Since the beginning of the outbreak, 17,079 people have been hospitalized.

The health department also reported four new deaths due to COVID-19, bringing the cumulative death toll in the state to 2,323. The four new deaths include:

• A Washington County man between 45 and 64 years old who was hospitalized when he died.
• A Utah County woman between 65 and 84 who was a long-term care facility resident.
• A Utah County woman between 45 and 64 who was hospitalized when she died.
• A Salt Lake County man between 45 and 64 who was hospitalized when he died.

Saturday’s update beings the cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Utah to 409,364, and the total number of vaccines administered to 2,728,455. In total, 5,004,104 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in Utah and 2,736,346 people have been tested.

The update comes two days after Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson warned that if people continue to hesitate to get vaccinated for protection against COVID-19, the state risks returning back to levels of infection as severe as last year.
